Chemical exfoliants VS. physical exfoliants?

- Chemical exfoliants and physical exfoliants offer distinctive methods for achieving smoother, brighter skin. Chemical exfoliants, such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), function by dissolving dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover through chemical reactions. These products penetrate deeply into the skin, addressing various concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines. On the other hand, physical exfoliants employ granular particles or tools to physically scrub away dead skin cells from the surface. While physical exfoliants deliver immediate results and can assist with rough patches, they may be abrasive on sensitive skin and can cause microtears if not used gently, potentially compromising the skin barrier.

I have very sensitive skin, can I use a chemical exfoliant?

- Yes, individuals with sensitive skin can use chemical exfoliants. For our product, if you have very sensitive skin, you can ease your way into using it by introducing it into your routine slowly, and washing off after 1 hour of use, working your way up to leaving the product on and using 2-3 times per week at night. And always make sure to perform a patch test before full application. Follow product instructions diligently, moisturize, and wear sunscreen to mitigate potential irritation and sun sensitivity.

Apply a pea sized amount to clean fingertips and gently pat into skin. Use after cleansing and toning. Follow up with Hyaluronic Acid and a moisturizer. Use 2-3 times per week, or as needed. Do not combine with Retinol.

Cautions

Use only as directed at night. Discontinue if irritation occurs. Avoid contact with the eyes. Apply sunscreen prior to exposure to the sun.
