Sustainability

Better for the planet.
Better for your skin.

From the Founders

When we started Three Ships in 2017, we were frustrated with the state of the beauty industry. Overpriced products, green-washing and millions of tons of plastic waste. We knew there had to be a better way, so we set out on a mission to provide the most effective, transparent and affordable natural skincare.

he skincare industry is in need of an overhaul and we believe that better skincare means being better in every way - from protecting and restoring the planet to supporting the community. We're determined to use our business as a force for good and believe that our sustainability work today is just the start.

We hope you'll join us in demanding better from the skincare industry.

Upcycled

Bark Extract

Our Bark Extract is upcycled from the biomass by-products of the lumber industry in Quebec, Canada.

The bioactive molecules in the tree’s bark are obtained through a circular economy cycle, where leftover bark is recycled into compost and returned to the forest as fertilizer.

Embracing the Circular Economy

We believe that businesses have a role in reducing waste and protecting the planet. Our team embraces circularity principles and has audited all existing products to identify ways to eliminate unnecessary packaging. A circular economy aims to increase supply chain efficiency and sustainability by reducing waste through its regenerative process.

Responsible Sourcing

We believe that sourcing transparency provides you with the opportunity to look closer to better understand what’s going on your skin. We also know that natural isn't always better for the environment or community. Natural ingredients need to be sourced in a responsible manner for people and the planet. That's why we've implemented a rigorous supplier auditing process, where all suppliers adhere to a code of conduct, including environmental protection and upholding worker rights in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization’s Conventions.

Combating Climate Change

Every business has a carbon footprint, but we believe that every business should be working to reduce carbon emissions and offset previous emissions. We also believe that climate protection happens throughout the value chain, from sourcing sustainably to protecting natural habitats to manufacturing using clean energy. We are committed to becoming a climate-neutral business.

Supporting the Community

Compassion guides all aspects of our business, and it is our goal to support charities, environmental initiatives and promote diversity within our brand. Our partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada means we have the privilege of granting wishes for children with critical illnesses and help keep their spirits high during this difficult time. At checkout, customers can add a donation to their order. 100% of these proceeds go directly to Make-A-Wish. We will also be launching limited-time products where 100% of the proceeds go towards Make-A-Wish.
