Sustainability in skin care - the Truly way

Our brand was founded on the idea that good quality skin care products didn’t have to be complicated, nor did they have to be costly. What we discovered along the way, was a need for a complete overhaul of the skin care industry, focussing on the environmental processes that accompany over 42% of the worldwide cosmetic market.

While we were frustrated with the way things were, we were excited to be given an opportunity to change them. Excess beauty packaging, overuse of single use shipping materials, and unethical material sourcing have contributed to a global environmental crisis.

We hope you’ll join us in stepping up our game towards changing the industry standard for what it means to be truly sustainable. Upcycling our packaging, eliminating harmful product ingredients, reducing our carbon footprint in responsibly sourced materials, and so much more: This our sustainability road map – for now, and forever.

Sustainability in skin care - the Truly way

Environmentally conscious packaging

Upcycled

What's Post-Consumer Resin?

All remaining plastic packaging is now made up of 25% PCR. Post-consumer resin (PCR) is an environmentally-friendly packaging option that many manufacturers are using in support of recycling programs, consumer demand, and to reduce their impact on landfills. Derived from recycled plastics, PCR reduces the need for virgin plastics and creates a circular economy.

Upcycled

What's our impact?

PCR plastics are the recycled materials from existing PET bottles and other plastics. PCR plastic is less wasteful than new plastic. It reduces the amount of waste produced and collected making it not only better for the environment by producing less waste in landfills and water sources but also by reducing our carbon footprint leading to positive global impact.

Forever testing on humans - not animals

Since 2020, we’ve been Leaping Bunny Certified and always will be. The Leaping Bunny Logo is the only internationally recognized symbol guaranteeing consumers that no new animal tests were used in the development of any product displaying it. The Logo can be seen on packaging, advertising, and websites for cosmetics and household products around the world.

Local pick up shipping alternatives

In 2019, We committed to offering local pick-up options for customers in the vicinity of both Abbotsford, and now Surrey, BC. Trucks account for the dominant share of all logistics-related greenhouse gas emissions — 57% compared to all other modes. This includes the courier service used to ship out online orders. This also allows our shippers to use minimal secondary packaging – as there is no need for excess packing paper, bubble wrap, packing tape or bubble mailers to fulfill shipping needs. This allows us to achieve 100% recyclable status on every local pick up order.

Unicartons replace bubble wrapped glass

We've drastically cut down on our plastic waste by replacing all bubble wrapped glass bottle packaging with stunning cardboard unicartons that can be responsibly placed in your recycling. We think they're much prettier than bubble wrap anyways.
