Why did we rebrand?

Hey, you! If you’re reading this now, you’re enjoying new packaging, an upgraded look, our new website, and earth-friendly packaging and ingredients you feel really good about. So, how did we get here? We’re putting it all on the table and sharing the behind-the-scenes story of how and why we’ve upped the ante to give you your best skin yet, and a few other fun things as well... It’s the same Truly you know and love – just better.

The packaging:

In the beginning, we launched Truly with standard PET clear plastic bottles, and going through as much packaging as we were, we decided we wanted to create a positive environmental impact from our usage. As Truly grew, we were able to start thinking about using a different material for our packaging, which led us to PCR, or post-consumer resin. We learnt about how using up-cycled plastics drastically cuts down on the need for single use plastic, and in turn creates a circular economy. Essentially, the more you purchase products consisting of up-cycled materials, the less demand there will be for virgin plastics. PCR creates an “imperfect” colour texture the higher percentage is used, which is part of the reason we transitioned from clear, to white packaging! White packaging allows the natural colour of PCR to blend into the bottle easier and is virtually invisible, functional and cute. The choice to change our packaging is resulting in less waste ending up in landfills and water sources, and we’re proud to give it to you!

The logo:

We’ve got a fancy new logo that we’ll be using alongside our classic “Truly” logo, and you’ll notice this on all products contained in a unit box! The small new “t” came from wanting an upscale, refined version of our branding, and having a recognizable symbol that will symbolize Truly for years to come. We like to refer to this concept as the “cool older sister” of Truly, and you will notice this in our website, new labels, and socials. 

The website: 

One of the more exciting changes we’ve made is the new look and functionality of our website. This has been an ongoing project for close to half a year. Working to create beautiful, upscaled web pages and give the product pages a major facelift! Customers can now shop by skin type, skin concern, find products based on their attributes, quickly understand a products’ benefits with our “key ingredients” section, and so much more. Feel free to shop directly from the home page, or even the cart page for the easiest shopping experience possible. We’ve focussed on our testimonial driven success, bringing visual before and after photos to every product page, along with customer-testing information to show you what people thought after their first use. 

The products:

At the end of the day, what matters the most is the product you’re putting on your skin, how it works and how it feels. We’re very excited to have worked closely with our formulation team to take your best feedback on our best products to make them even better than before, and truly create a product line that you have helped influence. Some of our favourite new ingredient additions include using reverse osmosis water, using a virtually scentless version of Apple Cider Vinegar in our Scalp spray, going FULLY vegan by replacing the beeswax previously in our face scrub, and adding a keratin blend to our hair products for nearly tangle-less hair in every wash. We have been able to source primarily North American ingredients to support international labor laws and decrease our overseas shipping footprint. 

The future:
